1. Prey--Doley Bernays

  • The first single of bernay's new ep, bond place hote, is an easy first on my top ten list this week. Bernays spits about the bronx summertime sadness--a peak time for violence-- over a knocking beat. His second ep (named above), is set to drop August 26. *No video for Prey unfortunately, so I put up a dope freestyle with Euro League instead. Enjoy.

2. Believe Me freestyle--Zuse

  • The thing about songs that are remixed by a dozen artists is that the beat gets stale after a whlie, so spitting an original flow is key. Zuse does just that with his "Believe Me freestyle" off his Plugged mixtape. Over the familiar beat, Zuse lays out his gutter to glory story with a authentic reggae and rap roots. Peep this Jamaican youngster.

3. We Dem Boyz pt. 2--Wiz Khalifa feat. Rick Ross, Schoolboy Q & Nas

  • Chiller beat than part one, and a combination of artists rarely seen on the same track.

4. The Neighborhood--Common feat. Lil' Herb & Cocaine 80s

  • Common sticks to reminiscing through bullet-holed memories of his days living in Chicago's south side. With Lil' Herb and Cocaine 80s on the track, the end product manifests into a soulful story of the slum. Look for The Neighborhood off Common's latest album, Nobody's Smiling.

5. MMG Under God--Wale

  • In his public declaration of his allegiance to MMG, despite recent controversy with fellow MMG crew member Meek Mill, Wale professes, "I get over shit quick, Understanding my flaws. Loyalty is the law. MMG under God."

6. England--Migos feat. Foolie

  • Reminder: Migos have a lot of money. And If you need convincing, drop the needle on this one. The Southern hip hop triple threat dropped the single England with Foolie to seemingly brainstorm outloud about where they can even store their drug profits. Nonetheless, solid trap music.

7. Bitch Get Off My Line--Mally Mall feat. Migos

  • A Mally mall track?! If you haven't noticed, it's been a minute since Mall dropped a rhyme. to debut back on the charts, mally mall teamed up with smooth-spitting souther boys, migos to relay a simple message: stop blowin' up their phones, bitch.

8. The End--Jeremih feat. Chance The Rapper

  • Off his new ep, no more, comes smooth r&B combined with the nasally awkwardness of Chance the rapper. It's quite a commercial gig for former underground Chicago superstar, CTR, but when it works, it works.

9. Champ Life--Charley Hood

  • The title track for Hood's mixtape is padded heavily with blood gang references, with Inglewood piru shoutouts like, "But if ni**** trippin', I'm shootin' like Ginobli." PS-the flow is too catchy.

10. Off Shore Banking--The Boy Illinois

  • The boy from chicago is a reminder that hip hop is not dead. Making his Chicago roots apparent, the boy illinois blends hip hop and r&b and soul true to Chi City hip hop sound.
