Today Sacral crown dropped his latest EP, Status Quo, featuring five downtempo, yet diverse tracks.
The EP is a chill, slow stroll through the musical moods of Sacral Crown. Despite the name, the EP has a sound far from the status quo. While each track has a downtempo vibe to it, the devil is in the details--each track has uniquely complicated sounds operating in the background giving the album more musical complexity.
According to Sacral Crown, Status Quo is a reflective look at the complacency of people during the cold fall and winter months, and the wishfulness within us all (seen in waiting for winter to end).
Complacency becomes the status quo, hence the name of the album, according to Sacral Crown.
Having dropped a few eps this fall, Sacral Crown says he's currently on a self-imposed hiatus as he prepares for another big summer. Alert for fans: a tour is brewing, another project is already in the works, and other performance enhancements are underway.
"I'm (also) completely revamping my live performance so that I'm doing much more on stage, creating an overall more energetic performance," Sacral Crown said. "There's nothing as great as traveling around on the strength of one's own creations. It's very empowering.
