I watched Sam Smith walk up to the stage to accept four Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
So let me acknowledge one thing: Sam Smith is this amazing, 22-year-old, soulful and delicate singer-songwriter, who was acknowledged for being a premiere new artist..and then he goes and scoops up REcord and Song of the Year too!? surpassing veterans like Taylor Switft, Beyonce and PHarrell Williams!?!
Sam SMith may be a rookie, but he's proven he can make it in the big leagues, up against some of the industry's top competition.
With his heart-wrenching ability to convey such raw emotion in his songs, combined with an impressive vocal range, Smith's voice makes me melt.
And clearly he melted the hearts of critics, fans, judges and the like, by taking home four Grammy awards at the 2015 ceremony.
Smith, like I hoped, is here to stay.
